Contoh Soal Causative dan Pembahasannya

Causative adalah suatu pola kalimat yang menyatakan bahwa seseorang/subjek menyebabkan sesuatu dikerjakan untuknya oleh orang lain, dengan menggunakan kata have dan get. Penggunaan causative have dan get memiliki perbedaan dari segi makna maupun pola, yaitu causative have berarti menyuruh atau memerintah, sedangkan causative get memiliki makna meminta dengan persuasif. 

Rumus Causative 

• Active Causative Subjek menyuruh/menyebabkan objek (pelaku) melakukan suatu tindakan. Pola: Subjek + (have/make/let/help) + objek (pelaku) V1, Pola di atas mempunyai makna yang sama dengan pola berikut. Subjek + (ask/get/permit/allow/help) + objek (pelaku) + to V1
• Passive Causative Apabila objek dalam causative berupa benda mati, passive causative digunakan karena subjek menginginkan sesuatu (objek) dikerjakan oleh orang lain. Pola: Subjek + (have/get) + objek (benda) + V3
